Holy Trinity Church, Arkhangelsk

The history of the temple is associated with military regiments, located first in the vicinity, and then in Arkhangelsk itself. 2 wooden churches were erected for the service staff: the Holy Trinity and the Epiphany.
Towards the end of the Northern War, the buildings fell into disrepair and it was decided to build a stone church. In 1745, the lower church was consecrated, but then, construction stopped and the upper church was consecrated only in 1756.
In 1810, the regimental temple became diocesan, but most of the parishioners were still military and their family members. For many years, military relics were kept in the temple: banners, standards, military badges.
In the ’30s, the church was closed. The room was used for a dormitory, a soap factory, a shoe factory.
In the middle of the last century, the upper tier of the bell tower was destroyed, and the head and drum were removed from the church building.
The revival of the temple began in 1992, after the transfer of its ROC. Since 1994, prayer services have been held, and in 1995 the first liturgy was held.

In the church are stored particles of relics:
● St. Athanasius
Matrons of Moscow
Cyril of Radonezh and Maria of Radonezh
The Great Martyrs of Barbaros
● Alexei Mecheva

In the temple, cases of oil and fragrance from icons were repeatedly recorded.
In November 2004, during the vespers, through the open royal gates, worshippers clearly saw the face of Christ on the throne robe. This image repeated the face of Jesus on the Shroud of Turin. There is a photo confirming the words of witnesses.
