Church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, Kaliningrad

Rosenau in the early 20th century was a rich, rapidly developing suburb of Koenigsberg. For the spiritual care of the Lutheran population in 1914, the construction of a church was started here. However, due to the war, it was not completed until 12 years later.
And in 1990, a note from builders was found in the spire drum. It listed their names.
The builders asked for forgiveness if the descendants found defects in the church. The times were tough. Inflation was eating up the money.
From its opening until 1945, the church served as a temple for the Lutheran community of Rosenau. With the arrival of Soviet troops, it was closed, and the building was used for various needs.
In 1990, it was decided to transfer the building of the ROC. At the same time, its restoration began. In 1992, the temple was consecrated.
Although the exterior of the temple is Lutheran, inside it is an Orthodox temple. Moreover, its decoration can be envied by the capital’s churches.
The iconostasis of ash strikes with splendor, and the walls with a festive, radiant painting.
The territory of the temple is well maintained, resembles a small park or botanical garden.

In the temple there are several significant icons with particles of the relics of saints:
Barbarians;
• Sergius of Radonezh;
● Vladimir (Quartet);
● Gabriel of Bialystok;
There is a Sunday school at the temple. A separate building was built for her.
