Church of All Saints on Kulishki, Moscow

After the victory at the Kulikovo field, Prince Dmitry, nicknamed Donskoy, decided to build a church in Moscow in honor of all the patron saints of the great battle. The building was wooden and only its remains have survived to this day. They were discovered in 1978 during archaeological work.
The first written mention of the temple dates back to 1488, in connection with the great Moscow fire. The temple was burnt several times, the last time in 1547.
After that, it was decided to build a stone building. This is what we see in the historic area of Kulishka today. However, in a heavily modified form.
The fact is that the masonry of red brick transformed the temple, but did not save it from fires. The church burned at least 2 times. Every time it was rebuilt, it was rebuilt. So, at the end of the 17th century, the windows were cut, the galleries were removed, the bell tower was built. And in the 18th century rebuilt the refectory. After that, no major changes were made, but the temple was updated regularly.
In 1812, during a fire, the temple burned down completely. A year later, his recovery began. It did not end until 16 years later.
Gradually the temple was filled with relics. For example, in 1842 he was given the icon of the Mother of God Bogolyubskaya, who had previously stayed on the tower of the Barbarian Gate.
It was lost after the temple was closed in 1931.
From complete annihilation, the church preserved its connection with the Battle of Kulikovo. The ROC returned it only in 1991.
In a large relic, in the form of an oblong crayfish, the relics of the Apostle Philip, Sava Stratilat and some other martyrs are stored.
In the small — a particle of the relics of St. Nicholas.
The parishioners especially honor the image of Seraphim of Sarov, a list from the icon of the Virgin of Kykk.
