The wooden chapel of the 17th century is all that remains of the ancient village of Kangozero. She was transported to Vishkelitsy in 1989. Set on a high ground. Old-timers claim that there was a chapel there before, but after the revolution it was dismantled into logs.
The chapel is small. This is a log house consisting of a room for prayer, a porch-galleries. Above the porch is a tent belfry in the form of a four. One bell.
It is interesting that for the bell tower used shrouded logs, and for the rest of the premises – round. The roof is gabled. Crosses are installed over the belfry and over the temple premises.
The roof is cut down in the classic northern style. The floors are wooden. Details of northern architecture can be seen in the doors (3 shoals) in the manner of processing logs (floor) and window (fiber).
The chapel was rebuilt in the 19th century, and in the 20th and 21st – restored. The last restoration took place quite recently, in 1922.
This is one of the oldest buildings of Syamozerya — the region of seven lakes. There are other monuments of wooden architecture in the village, a local history museum is organized.
