The snake forced him to move a considerable distance from the camp.

This happened during the Afghan war. Classmates Victor and Peter together were drafted into the army. Peter’s mother was a believer and often prayed in the temple. She persuaded her son to go to church with her and ask the priest to bless him for military service. Peter loved his mother and did not want to upset her. He went to the temple and received a blessing. The mother’s heart became calmer, and the son’s too.

Both Victor and Peter served in Afghanistan. Around the tarp tents in which they were settled are mountains and sands.

Petra was appointed cook. One day near the kitchen, he noticed a snake nest with cubs. Peter was sorry to kill them, and he even fed the snake offspring daily with the waste of the soldier’s kitchen. Sometimes he had to see his mother cobra from afar. The snake kept its distance, and the soldier reconciled himself to such a neighborhood.

One evening Peter, as usual, was carrying out the remnants of food, and suddenly the mother cobra appeared before him. She was in a threatening position. Knowing that in such cases it was impossible to make sudden movements, Petya slowly veered aside, but the snake immediately reacted to his movement — and again the distance remained the same. The soldier had to retreat. But after each step, the snake approached him again and froze in a threatening pose. If he didn’t go away, he started hissing, forcing him to take another step back.

This went on for hours.

The serpent forced him to withdraw a considerable distance from the camp. Cobra didn’t let him go, but she didn’t attack him either. Having driven him far enough, the snake calmed down. But as soon as he took at least one step towards the camp, he took a battle stand.

In such a terrible tension, Peter stayed all night. As it began to shine, the snake suddenly crawled away.

Barely on his feet, Peter approached the tent, going to tell about what had happened. His eyes saw a terrible picture: the bruised bodies of soldiers. In one of the victims, he recognized Victor. The douchemen were here last night.
