Father Pavel Gruzdev always prayed for those for whom there was no one to pray, that is, who did not have a soul on earth. He prayed, “Lord, remember those who need to be remembered for the sake of someone.” And now, when the father was undergoing a complicated operation on the gallbladder, at this moment, in fact, his death came. He woke up in that light and saw a great many people who came to pray for him, including his friends, priests who had already died, but even more strangers.
— Who is this? asked Father Paul.
And one of the priests replied to him,
— These are the ones for whom you pray: «Remember, Lord, those whom no one remembers for the sake of need.»
