I want to share with you the wonderful help of St. Panteleimon. 5 years ago I was still living in Germany, in the city of Cologne, and was just beginning to church. I have a habit of reading Orthodoxy every day. Lives of saints. And then, 5 years ago, I read about the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon. That was Saturday night. On Sunday after the Liturgy, the parishioners of our church invited me to a Catholic church, where there is a particle of the relics of the holy Great Martyr Panteleimon. I had no idea that there was such a shrine in the city where I lived. It turns out that once a year – on August 9 – in this church the Russian clergy are allowed to serve a prayer service to the holy martyr. Take out the ark with holy relics and everyone is allowed to attend. Since then I have often visited the relics of the saint and honored his memory.
About 4 years ago, the following happened to me. I started to have a bad toothache. The dentist said there was a pin in the tooth and pus formed underneath. The stick was removed, the pus was cleaned, the doctor put medicine in the hole and sealed the tooth. I should have come in two or three. The doctor warned: if you get sick, you need to endure: so it should be.
The next day I had a fever and started to puff up my cheek. The doctor on the phone said that if the cheek is swollen, then pus is gathered somewhere. And that tomorrow you have to come to cut the cheek and release pus. And anesthesia in such cases can not be given: it will be even worse.
My husband and I began reading the akathist to St. Pantelemone. And… already on the 3rd or 4th kondak, I felt fluid coming out of my mouth, and the tumor slightly decreased. The Lord has heard us through the prayers of Saint Panteleimon!
The night was calm. The next day my husband and I went to the hospital. The doctor was in shock: the pus began to come out on its own in the most unexpected place, and she just had to put the drainage. Two days later, it was over.
