When my mother was pregnant with me, the doctors advised her to have an abortion. However, Father Rostislav, her father-in-law and my grandfather, suggested that she abandon this and choose a saint to whom she would pray for the health of the child, and then name the child in honor of this saint of God.
Mother chose Reverend Seraphim. Both pregnancy and childbirth went well — I was born and was named Seraphim.
A few months before my birth, Father Rostislav gave my parents an old icon of the Sarov wonderworker, which now hangs in my bedroom at home.
This case testifies that all the most significant things in our life are connected with St. Seraphim. When the doctors wanted to have an abortion, the mother, following the advice of Father Rostislav, decided to pray to this saint. She didn’t tell me, but that means he used to help her, too.
This story taught me that in difficult circumstances, when you do not know what to do, it is better to put everything in the strong hands of God with prayer. When a person trusts God and his wise guidance, he is calm and witnessing endless miracles in his life.
