I’m not homeless.

I’m in the driveway. Someone stole our mat… It turned out to be a bum. He lies there between the floors and sleeps sweetly on our mat. Woke up. We started talking. I ask you, why did you steal the mat? He says it’s cold to lie on the floor. Out of anger, she called him a homeless man. And he said, «I’m not a bum.»

Hmm. Keep talking. It turns out his name is Volodya, a good man, an ordinary hard worker. I came from Gomel to work on a rotational basis. I worked for 2 months somewhere on the construction site in Medvedkovo, and then, as you can guess, abandoned. That’s it. Well, at least the documents were given… I came to the train station, some men got drunk there, as I found myself in our village I do not remember. I haven’t eaten in 2 days. He doesn’t know what to do next. It’s cold outside. There’s nowhere to go. We called my mom in Gomel. Feed it. He’ll go home in the morning.

Here I am thinking… How many of them are Volodya, Sasha, Van, etc. sleeping in train stations, in the entrances, freezing to death on the street? What does despair bring people to? And how many mothers and wives are waiting for them from these very «earnings» with hope for the best, and they may never return home. Yes, he is not too presentable, does not smell good toilet water, unwashed, and you do not want to approach such a person very much, and it is not safe. But before you kick him out on the street (you will always have time to do this), ask at least when he ate and do not regret a piece of bread.
