September 15thIn the Cathedral of Christ the Savior there is worship of the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt, one of the most revered shrines of the Orthodox world. The right hand of the great wonderworker was brought to Russia from the Greek island of Corfu on August 17, and before arriving in the capital, the ark managed to visit twelve regions of the country. Now it’s Moscow’s turn — and apparently the queues will be big.

The relics will be in the temple dSeptember 20. Access schedule:15-19 Septemberfrom eight in the morning to eight in the evening, on the last day, September 20, from eight in the morning to two in the afternoon. All this time, the usual entrance to the temple from the Kropotkinskaya metro station will be closed. The organizers paved another route — from the Bolotnaya embankment through the Patriarchal Bridge. Pilgrims advised to go to the stations«Polyana», «Tretyakovskaya»orOctober. From there, walk to the embankment, where the organized passage begins.

The queue is the main thing you need to be prepared for. You have to stand for a long time, the weather in September on the banks of the Moskva River does not pamper: by the evening it is noticeably cold, there are often rains. The organizers directly recommend taking warm clothes and water supply. It will not be superfluous to take care of comfortable shoes.
For people who find it difficult to endure a long wait, volunteers are provided. Volunteers help pregnant women, pilgrims with infants, people with musculoskeletal disorders — you can contact them right on the route.
Saint Spyridon is a truly legendary figure. Living in the IV century in Cyprus, a shepherd who became bishop of the city of Trimifunt, he is considered one of the main miracle workers of Christianity. Among believers, stories about his help in various everyday troubles are widely known: from financial difficulties to family troubles. In Greece, on Corfu, where his incorruptible relics are stored, he is actually the patron of the island — locals say that the sandals of the saint wear out, as if he walks on the ground and helps people still.
The relics of St. Spyridon were brought to Russia before – in 2007, 2010 and 2018. Each time it became a big event: people drove for days, brought children with them, slept in queues. This time, the scale, judging by the number of regions that the Ark has already bypassed, is not inferior to the previous ones.

Those who are just going to go, should hurry: there is little time left.
