2023 has passed since the Savior of the World was born. Many centuries before, people had been waiting for the Messiah, and behold, God’s promise was fulfilled. The Lord came down to earth so that sin would no longer have the power to separate the Father from His creation.
All prophecies and predictions came true in one instant, the moment of Christ’s birth. All the hopes and aspirations of the faithful were embodied in a tiny boy for whom there was no room in the hotel.
The Gospels show us a picture of the doubts, the difficult decisions that preceded the birth of the Savior. In an unfamiliar city, without any comforts, the Virgin gave life to her son. But her great love for the Creator was so overwhelming that she did not notice the inconvenience. It was this love that helped her to accept her lot with humility, to see God’s providence in all the events that happened to her.
Thanks to her humility, sacrifice and willingness to serve, we have found a Savior. One who can break the chains of sin. Who teaches us to live so that we can experience heavenly bliss.
The whole story of Christmas is a lesson to us that salvation can be found in love, greatness in simplicity, joy in service to others, victory in concessions, acquisition in bestowal, one’s own soul in self-sacrifice, and elevation in modesty.
God has done everything for our salvation. We need to respond to His love, to accept His sacrifice. And in response, it is only necessary not to forget about mercy, to live according to the commandments, to strengthen in faith and overcome difficulties with trust in the Lord.
Let the sinner rejoice, for forgiveness is granted to him.— wrote Leo the Great. Let us rejoice, brothers and sisters, for today a Savior has been born.
