The Lord blessed the Monk Micah abundantly. He was a student of Sergius of Radonezh. Not just an apprentice. He spent much time with the elder, learning and accepting his wisdom. Micah was distinguished by a good disposition, a pure soul and sincere faith. For this he received an extraordinary blessing. Micah witnessed the visit of Sergius by the Most Holy Mother.
One evening Saint Sergius, having finished reading the evening rule, asked his disciple not to sleep. He said he was waiting for a wonderful visit. And immediately everything was flooded with a wonderful light. And such holiness filled the cell that young Micah could not stand it and fainted.
And the Virgin promised her care of the monastery of Radonezh, blessed and disappeared. Sergius himself was deeply impressed. He did not even immediately notice that Micah was lying on the floor and barely breathing. He brought the monk to his senses and sent for two other monks6 Isaac and Simon. All together they sang praise to the Virgin. The chronicler claims that it happened on the night of Christmas in 1384.
Micah died the following year, and in 1734 the Church of the Appearance of the Virgin was built on this site. In it, under the bush, the relics of the saint are kept.
