The name of this saint means «destroying evil.» It was ideally suited to the saint, who laid down his life in the Service of the Lord and the destruction of evil, which was carried by the enemy of the Chalovec family.
Pausicaky was born into a noble but religious family. From childhood, pious parents attached him to the service of Christ. Pausicaky received a brilliant education, but most importantly he had the gift of a healer. At 25, he took a haircut. The glory of the healer, who helped the twisted to straighten, the blind to see, and the demons to find peace, reached Patriarch Cyriacus, in Constantinople.
He summoned Pausicakius, was struck by the depth of his reasoning, and appointed him bishop to the city of Sinad, in Phrygia.
The new bishop took care of the health of his flock not only physically, but also spiritually. He was not ceremonious with those who led an unjust way of life, he was severe with heretics and freethinkers. By his example, he showed how to live a righteous life, aimed at serving others. When the emperor Mauritius fell ill in Constantinople, the local healers could not help. Pausicaki was summoned and he was able to heal the emperor. On the way home, he and his companions spent the night in a deserted place. Everyone was thirsty, and there was no source nearby. Then Pausicacus prayed to the Lord and the spring that hour hammered from the ground, delighting everyone with clean and tasty water.
The saint died in 606, surrounded by disciples and admirers. Unfortunately, neither the tomb nor the relics have survived to this day.
