Martyr Isaurus

Little is known about Saint Isaurus. He was a deacon of the Orthodox Church in Albanian Apollonia. He was called the Athenian, which suggests that he was probably a Greek from Athens.
Tradition also tells that Isaurus suffered under Emperor Numerian. This allows you to accurately determine the date of his death. Numerian reigned briefly, in 283-284.
But even a short reign resulted in the persecution and execution of dozens of Christians.
One of them was the Isaurus.
He was executed in Apollonia by beheading the head. The fact that this was a real persecution of Christians explains the fact that other Christians were executed with Isaurus. Among them were people who held high posts: Rufin and Ruth, Obba Radulev. There were ministers like the Isaurus. There were just people who accepted Jesus as their Savior: Basil, Peregrine, Philix, Innocent, Hermius, Peregrine. Only 8 people.
