The name «Holy Source of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God (Gridino Shuvoye)» refers to the Orthodox object in the area «Gridino Shuvoye». In the early 90s, near the source, on the outskirts of the village of Gridino-Shuvoye, a new stone church was built in the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. On the site of the icon and springs, a chapel was erected over time, and on the contrary, a wooden church was built on the high bank of the river in 1673 (it was rebuilt after a fire in 1864 and was dismantled for building material during the years of Khrushchev’s anti-religious campaign in 1966).
The revered source of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, consisting of three small keys, is located on the left bank of the Shuvoika River 20 meters from its bed and 500 meters south of the western end of the village. For the trip, pre-preserved coordinates and updated information about the local road will be useful.
