… pray for one another to be healed: intense prayer can accomplish much
righteous Bible, James 5:16
In the life of any Christian there are moments when the only hope is prayer. An adult can ask for prayer support, but a child is unlikely. Praying for children who are sick is our responsibility and our blessing. Through prayer we draw closer to the Lord and open our hearts. Through prayer comes
grace not only to the one for whom one is praying, but also to the one praying himself. He understands that in stress and despair it is difficult to find words and express himself coherently. Therefore, in Orthodoxy there are canonical prayers for the health of children (and for upbringing, protection, security). But the Lord will not reject prayer with his words. She will be heard the same way. It’s not the words that are important, but the faith that we put into our request. Remember, the disciples failed to cast out the demon from the boy. Jesus explained this as a lack of faith. If only they had it, like a mustard seed, everything would have worked out as it should.
Prayer does not like fuss, therefore, it is better to set aside a special time for it, so that nothing distracts. But if the case is urgent, injury, acute poisoning, then you need to pray without delay. Nothing comes to mind? Say: “Lord have mercy.” Simple and effective.
Who to pray for children
The Lord Jesus Christ has always had a special relationship with children. He will come to the rescue with any illness.
The Mother of God, like no one else, understands the sadness and despair of parents. She herself experienced the bitterness of loss. She is our intercessor and petitioner before the Lord, the patroness of children and mothers.
Nicholas the Pleasant is considered a saint who especially cares about babies. Prayers to this saint perform many miracles.
Saint Panteleimon healed dozens of people during his lifetime and thousands after death. It is especially important to contact him in cases where surgery will be performed. May he quickly grant healing of wounds and healing of injuries.
But without Christ in the heart, without faith, prayer is only “a ringing brass or a sounding cymbal.” If you don’t feel faith in yourself, don’t sign up for the feat of prayer. Insincere prayer can cause harm. But what miracles prayer by faith can work!
