One day the laity gathered and began to discuss among themselves what the miracle of faith was. One says:
— I lost my job, prayed to God and asked my confessor to pray for me. And soon I found a great job. What a miracle!
Another says:
— And I had such problems in business, and I asked God for things to go well for me. And, imagine, I earned a whole million rubles! What a miracle!
And the third person was still silent. They ask him:
— Haven’t you had any miracles?
He answers:
— It was. I came to ask for prayers and advice from my confessor, invested a lot of money in one company and went bankrupt. I asked my confessor to tell me where to buy an apartment, pay for it, and this construction company, in the end, collapsed.
Then the listeners were amazed:
— What is the miracle?
— And the miracle is that, despite all this, I have not lost faith either in my confessor, or in the Church, or in God. What a miracle!
That’s right. This is truly a real miracle! This is what it means — to accept life as it is, and to seek only one change — a change of mind, a change of thoughts, a change of your heart. We only need to look for this in our life, and let it be absolutely indifferent to us what is added or taken away. Then we will be real believers, then nothing and no one will shake our faith.
