I’m a pensioner, I’m almost 70. A few years ago, I started having severe headaches. At first, the pain came twice a month. I was completely incapacitated these days. The attacks were so strong and painful that my eyes were darkening, my legs were shaking. I struggled to get to the house, where I lay motionless in the dark until the pain passed. Then the seizures increased. It got to the point that they began to repeat sometimes several times a week. I became afraid to leave the house. Every day without pain was a real happiness for me. Every morning was a painful wait: will the pain return today?
I went to the doctors, went through all sorts of examinations, but they did not show anything. Doctors shrugged:
— Apparently, this is old age, migraine, features of the body. Drink pills, avoid stress, and perhaps everything will normalize.
I drank countless drugs, but they only temporarily relieved the pain, not saving me from these terrible attacks. My life has become a nightmare. I became a recluse, only occasionally went outside to the nearest store to buy something from food. I had only one choice: to pray and pray to God.
I have always been a believer, tried to live according to the commandments of Christ, helped as best I could my neighbors, went to church. But I never asked for it, more and more for my family. The moment came when I needed help myself. I learned that in Moscow there is a monastery where there is a miraculous image of John the Forerunner with a hoop. This icon has the power to heal headaches. To many, perhaps, my further story will seem a prank and a falsification, but all my words are true. After I visited the St. John-Predechensky convent and read the prayer under the hoop, everything passed. The headaches have disappeared irretrievably. I have been living a normal full life for a year now.
I want to say goodbye: people, believe me. Even when doctors and medications fail, hope remains. God is merciful and He hears our prayers.
