I was in London. We were invited to a house by Russian people. Seeing the great icon of the wonderworker Nicholas, with a lamp in front of it, I asked what explains this veneration. And the hostess told me the following story. Her husband had to urgently leave by rail, and his wife was waiting for the birth of a child. Keeping her husband was no longer possible. Goodbye. And suddenly, lying in bed, she saw a bright light at the feet of the bed; and Saint Nicholas appeared and said, “Stop your husband!”
The vision is gone. The pregnant woman ordered the servant to immediately call her husband, who had not yet had time to leave. And without telling him a word about the appearance of St. Nicholas, her husband begged her to stay at all costs.
It turned out that on the train on which he was supposed to go, there was a crash with victims. Apparently, he was in danger of death. And St. Nicholas warned her. Since then, they honor his icon abroad and hold an inextinguishable lamp in front of it. How many miracles! Thousands, thousands!
