This is what Elder Barsonofy Optinsky once said. One day one of the ministers came to a St. Petersburg priest, distinguished by his high life, Archpriest Kolosov, and complained:

— Pray for the rebels against you, said Father Kolosov, not only pray at home, but, most importantly, remember and take out the particles for their health.
— What is the benefit of this? the minister said.
— You’ll see. Every particle taken from the prosphora signifies the soul of man. Particles fall into the dust and are filled with the blood of Christ. Listen to me, write down on a note all your enemies like this: Leonidas, John, Vladimir.
— Yeah, yeah. Vladimir is especially attacking me…
— So serve for him every day.
A week, another month, and his excellency comes again to the priest. When he bowed to his feet, he began to thank him.
“Father, a miracle has happened,” he said. My former enemies not only no longer rebel against me, but treat me with respect and love.
This is the miracle God did. Pray for your enemies and they will turn into friends. By prayer you will save their souls from the nets of the enemy.
