In 1968, the following incident occurred with one of the workers on the marble mining: the work was carried out at a high altitude, and therefore the workers were tied with ropes to each other and to the rock. Suddenly one of the ropes broke and a worker named Spyridon fell.
The rest of the men rushed down to the ground and expected to see his remains, but to their great surprise they saw him sitting on a rock as if nothing had happened. While everyone was wondering how it happened that there was not a scratch on him, he took out of his pocket the icon of Skoropodushnitsa and told how at the moment of the fall all he could think about and that he had time to cry was “Theotokos”; and – oh miracle, he suddenly saw Her, and She herself as if lowered him to the ground.
