I’m your guardian angel.

My father died during the Patriotic War. I was very worried about the poverty in which I was, and decided to become a pickpocket.

I was on a tram one day, and I set myself a junction. I was going to pull out his wallet if it wasn’t for one priest. He sat there and kept an eye on me. I waited for him to look away, but he kept staring at me. Eventually he took my hand and we went down at the stop together. When we were alone, he put a paper bill in my hand, crossed me and said,

Do not let your guardian angel leave you.

— What kind of guardian angel?! — I cried out, pulled out my hand, that there was strength kicked the priest on the ankle and rushed out.

When I got home, I felt sick. For three days he had a high fever and was unconscious. All this time, the boy dressed in white never left me. He put his cool hand on my hot forehead and I felt relieved. I asked him:

— Don’t leave me.

— How do I leave you? I’m your guardian angel. I will be with you when others leave. But if I protect you, you have to help me, too.

Then he added:

When you are well, go and apologize to that priest.

Having recovered and started going to school again, I went back to the place where we had “breaked up” and began to question people. After a long search, I finally found that priest. He recognized me immediately.

“My guardian angel sent me to you to ask forgiveness,” I said, looking away.

Maybe I wouldn’t have dared to tell this old story if it weren’t for a recent incident.

I had already exchanged my sixth decade when I got into an accident – I fell in a car into a gorge and lay unconscious in intensive care for several days. Surprisingly, all this time I saw around me that light-bearing boy who for so many years has not changed at all.
