An amazing incident recently occurred in St. Petersburg.
First, 28-year-old nurse Oksana Popova had a terrible dream: her 22-year-old brother Dmitry is beaten and kicked by some drunken thugs.
When the girl told her grandmother about her terrible dream, she awoke: it turns out, and she dreamed exactly the same dream: bloody Dmitry in the dust under the feet of scum. In the evening, it turned out that the mother had an identical dream. There was a terrible silence in the apartment.
And then Dmitry returned from the institute and announced that he was leaving for a friend in the suburban village of Kavgolovo until Monday. There was no way to keep the big guy, and over the story of a triple dream, Dmitry only laughed and left home for the night looking.
The women in the apartment were horrified. Unable to do anything, they dispersed to their rooms and, without colluding, began to pray. As it turned out later, all three prayed (also without colluding!) to one single saint — Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg, who was most revered in this family. At one o’clock in the morning there was a sudden bell at the door.
On the threshold stood a brother reddened from the frost. Asked why he had come home halfway, the boy reluctantly muttered, “I’ve changed my mind!” After drinking a glass of vodka, Dimka fell asleep, and the next morning told his grandmother, mother and sister the following. At one of the stops, a strange, not in winter lightly dressed woman in a handkerchief entered the train car and sat directly opposite him. From the close look of her blue eyes, Dmitry just numbed. At the next stop, a company of drunken big guys fell into the car. Sitting nearby, they drank beer, loudly swearing.
Suddenly, the companion got up and, taking the guy by the sleeve of the down jacket, pulled him into the vestibule. He tried to object, but heard inside himself a confident and soft female voice: “Come!” They got off the train at the next stop. The door closed, the train slowly gained momentum, and Dmitry managed to see a drunken fight begin inside the abandoned car. Looking around, he found himself standing alone on a snowy platform. Instantly sweating with fear, the guy ran over the tracks and soon returned home on the oncoming train. The next morning, Oksana took her brother to the Smolensk cemetery in a small chapel of Xenia of St. Petersburg.
The student who did not believe in God looked at the image of the saint and whispered with white lips: “Lord, this is her!”
