I don’t know the heroes of the next story. They hesitated to talk to me. But they let one of their relatives pass it on to me.
There was an ordinary family in the same town. Husband and wife. They should have had a baby soon. The pregnancy was perfect. We bought a stroller, a crib, things. All with love is blue. The boy was waiting, the heir. True, there was nothing to inherit, but the future Pope said: “Heir!”
And a baby was born with Down syndrome.
The midwife said,
— You’re down! Where were you looking?!
We cried, but they were taken from the hospital. A couple of weeks later, my husband packed up and left.
— I want an heir, not this child! And it’s probably not from me. I didn’t have any downs in my family.
My wife does, too.
Time passed. Mom once pulled this child alone, and the former father met a divorced woman with a teenage daughter and married a second time. I never thought of an heir. And now the second wife is pregnant. Really, a girl. We bought everything pink.
«Your daughter has Down syndrome,» the midwife said.
— I don’t need a sister like that, the teenage girl shouted. — I’ll be laughed at.
And the new wife quickly packed up and left with her eldest daughter.
Dad didn’t abandon his daughter. He raised himself, his old parents helped him. His ex-wife called. She didn’t even want to talk to him at first. And then she relented. They even meet now, walk together. A boy and a girl.
— Until they got back together, but I’m sure they will, their relative told me. — Oh, how God arranged this. Who would have thought!
I would never have thought that would happen. But with God, anything is possible. We don’t care. And as one friend of mine said, «The Lord has all the puzzles folded properly.» Yes! There is nothing wrong with Him, and there are no mistakes.
