One day, Gabriel’s father was visited by a young couple. The woman was pregnant. Father Gabriel blessed them and said,
— My neighbours, know that the child understands everything, so tell him the word of God so that from the very beginning he will be well educated.
The husband was surprised by what the monk said and asked:
— Yes, but, father, I don’t understand what they say through a half-open door, and how will a baby in the womb understand?
Father Gabriel looked at the woman and addressed the child in the womb:
Baby, I tell you, do you hear the word of God?
Only he said it, as the child moved so much that the mother grabbed her stomach and could not hide her emotions. The husband, surprised and already believing what Father Gabriel had said, looked at his wife in astonishment.
