General Skobelev had a parrot for many years. And the general himself often and for a long time prayed aloud.
Once he was presented with a very expensive book on a military topic and after another study, he left it open on the table, retired for a while. When he came back, he almost fainted!
The most precious military aid of a foreign publication was crippled and torn by a parrot that somehow got out of the cage!
The righteous anger of the tsarist general had no limit. He grabbed the fly swagger and began chasing a parrot-schoolboy shouting: “I will kill!”
The guilty bird flew behind the closet, from where it was not possible to get it. The general decided to wait for the voluntary surrender of his guilt in order to betray the culprit to an approximate punishment.
And then half an hour later, from behind the closet, I heard a pleading remorse:
«Lord, Jesus Christ! Have mercy on me sinners! “Lord, Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner!” – said with the intonation of the general himself and continued uninterruptedly for an hour!
Skobelev’s heart shook and shook. He even cried. I shouted at the parrot’s closet, «Okay, sinner, fly out!» You are pardoned! and within a few moments the prodigal parrot was cheerfully tweeting on his hand.
