April 8th every year, the church celebrates a joyful event. On this day, a messenger from heaven announced good news. And the next day, it is the turn to honor the messenger of the Archangel Gabriel.
We know little about angels and their existence. It is known that they were created before people. Some fell, leaving heaven along with Satan. The part remained to glorify the Lord and carry out His instructions.
The Archangel Gabriel is mentioned in the Bible many times. In the Old Testament he appeared to Moses and Daniel. He informed the Mother of God about the imminent birth of his daughter. He predicted that Zechariah would have a son.
The legend claims that the archangel invisibly stayed with the Virgin Mary all the days of her life. He was the messenger who told her about an extraordinary event: the birth of the Savior. He appeared to Joseph, first revealing the secret of the birth of Christ, and then warning him of Herod’s cruel plans.
Gabriel is truly an angel of light. All his speeches are filled with care and love. To the Creator and to people.
On the day of the celebration of the Council, they turn to the archangel with any prayer. A good intercessor, he will pray to God for all Christians who turn to him with a request.
