The Holy Land Charitable Foundation for Spiritual Development of the Personality has launched a new information section dedicated to the holy sources of Russia on its website. Now pilgrims and all interested in Orthodox shrines have the opportunity in one place to find a detailed catalog of healing and revered springs from all over the country.
The section is organized by an alphabetical index — from «A» to «Z», which makes the search as convenient as possible. Here are collected information about hundreds of sources: from well-known throughout Russia, such as the sources of the Diveyevo Monastery, the font of St. Seraphim of Sarov and the spring of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, to less well-known, but no less revered places — for example, sources in honor of the Tikhvin, Kazan, Vladimir icons of the Mother of God, as well as keys consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Panteleimon the Healer, Paraskeva Friday and many other saints.
The feature of the new section is an interactive map, on which all sources are marked. This allows users to visually see the geography of the shrines, plan a pilgrimage trip and know in advance the location of a specific source — whether it is the Moscow region, the Urals, the Crimea, the Volga region or the Russian North.
The creation of such a catalog is a significant work for the preservation of the spiritual heritage of the country. Many sources are related to the stories of miraculous healings, the appearance of icons and the exploits of local saints, about which little is often known to a wide audience. Thanks to the systematization of this data, information becomes available to everyone.
The section will be replenished with new materials, and the foundation continues to work on the development of other thematic headings of the site — about churches and monasteries of Russia, the lives of saints and miraculous icons of the Virgin.
