Finding the Relics of St. Dalmat of Isetsky

17th century — time of development of Siberia. It was in the harsh northern region that Dmitry Mokrinsky, the son of a Cossack ataman, was born. He followed in the footsteps of his parent and is mentioned in the documents as a Tobolsk city dweller.
Having grown up, Dmitry married, children appeared in the family. However, after the death of his wife, the future saint went to the Nevyansky monastery. He left all his possessions except for the family icon of the Virgin.
The monk liked the monastic life, but he wanted more solitude to concentrate on prayer.
Taking the Assumption Icon with him, he went to a place called the White Fortress.
He settled down there on a cliff. First in a cave and then in a wooden cell.
Many stories about the miracles that Saint Dalmatus performed were recorded by his son, Archimandrite Isaac.
Gradually, other monks joined the elder. They built the chapel, the cells. Thus the Isetian desert arose.
The Christian monastery was often ruined by Bashkir nomads and Tatar khans. But she, like a phoenix, was reborn. It is noteworthy that on the ashes of the monastery, the icon of the Assumption of the Virgin was preserved intact.
The last years of his life the elder spent in seclusion. He was buried in the Assumption Church, and when a new stone Assumption Cathedral was built, a tomb was built over the grave. There were also kept spanking, chain mail and schemnicheskogo clothes of St. Dalmatus.
In 1871, the builders of the temple in honor of the icon “Joy of All Who Sorrow”, stumbled upon the burial of Dalmat. However, the church authorities ordered to leave the coffin in place, an autopsy is not carried out.
And then the parishioners from different villages began visions. Saint Dalmatus came to them and complained that he was lying in dampness. The archimandrite and several brothers removed the earth and saw that the water had indeed penetrated the coffin. The relics and clothes of the saint were covered with sand and silt. The relics were badly damaged by the water. But they could not go against the will of the authorities, so the grave was only drained and filled again.
Since the mid-19th century, records of miracles performed through prayers to the saint began to be kept in the monastery. He was considered the protector of warriors, because he was himself. The name of the monk is mentioned during the service to all the saints in the Russian land who shone, which was made in 1918.
In the 20s of the last century, the monastery was closed. The things of the elder were transferred to the museum, the painted wooden tombstone was thrown into a landfill. The premises were used for economic needs. Then the Assumption Icon of the Virgin disappeared.
In the 90s, the revival of the monastery began. In 1994 it was decided to open the tomb. Since then, the relics are in the Sorrowful Temple, in a wooden crayfish, available for veneration.
At first, the monk was revered as a local saint. In 2013, the church-wide veneration of Davlat Isetsky was approved.
In the monastery, the custom was revived to write down certificates of help through prayers to the saint.
