Saint Isidora of Egypt

The feat of faith is not always shrouded in a halo of romance or martyrdom. Sometimes he hides behind strange actions and behavior. An example of this is the life of Isidora. Her ministry was hidden behind strange antics, dirty clothes, incomprehensible speeches. But the Lord sees the heart, and in the heart of Isidora burned the fire of Christ worship.

She lived in a monastery in Egypt, where she did not even sit down at the table with everyone, but ate the remains. Did the dirtiest job. Sometimes it seems that she was sent to shake off the Pharisaic husks of the nuns and show their true soul. Because in the monastery Isidore was treated with neglect, considered a fool. But the saint never became angry, did not murmur, but constantly prayed. Covering her head with a dirty cloth, she silently performed her duties, washed, cleaned and cleaned the premises, dishes, yard.

Not far from those places was the monk Pitirim. Unlike Isidore, he was respected and often sought advice and intelligent conversation. And there was a vision of Pitirim in which an angel told him to go to the Tavensky monastery and worship the nun whom everyone despised. On her head is a rag, dressed in a rag, but her heart and thoughts are always with the Lord.

In the monastery of Pitirim received with honor. He asked to call all the novices. When everyone was gathered, Pitirim did not see the nun in a rag with a rag on her head. It never occurred to anyone to call Isidor. When, at the request of the elder, she was found, he bowed to her to the ground. There was no limit to the sisters’ surprise. But the elder said she was above all those present.
Lord.

The sisters repented and asked forgiveness from Isidora. It was difficult for her to bear so much attention, she left the monastery. Where Isidora went and what happened to her afterwards is unknown.
