Reverend Thomas Malein

An outstanding military commander, a man of immense courage, a talented commander,
Thomas brought numerous victories to the Byzantine emperor. But in his heart he had the desire to devote his life not to war and the emperor, but to the Lord God.
At the peak of his career, a famous strategist suddenly leaves worldly life and accepts tonsure.
For some time after this, St. Thomas, as a clerk, visited monasteries, talked with the elders, imbued with their knowledge and wisdom.
On one of these journeys, the reverend had a vision. He saw a pillar of fire with a chariot and heard the voice of the prophet Elijah. He ordered him to go to Maleia Mountain and perform the feat of desertism.
St. Thomas withdrew to Milea, and there he no longer fought physical but spiritual enemies.
As is usually the case, the fame of his asceticism spread quickly. Monks from Mount Athos (Milei is located on the peninsula) and Christians from the mainland began to come to the desert for spiritual explanations and healings from diseases. For for his spiritual feat, the Lord blessed the saint with the gift of insight and healing.
St. Thomas did not refuse to instruct anyone, and through his prayers dozens of people got rid of diseases.
After his death, the faithful continued to visit the tomb of the saint. Through the prayers of the saint, many were freed from demons, infirmities, spiritual throwing.
