Martyrs Heraclius, Pavlinus and Venedim

During the reign of Emperor Decius (3rd century), to become a Christian meant to sign a death sentence. The choice was small: offer sacrifices to pagan gods or accept martyrdom. It is not surprising that most Christians practice their faith in secret. But Venedim, Heraclius, and Pauline understood the importance of telling people about Christ. They walked the streets of Athens and openly called people to be baptized. They saw their ministry in spreading the gospel, for Christ commanded them to go and tell the nations of their faith in the true God.
The preachers were seized, tortured for a long time, and then burned alive in the oven.
