Martyr Theodore of Alexandria

In the 4th century, during the great persecution of Christians, the ruler of Alexandria of Egypt personally investigated every denunciation. Once he was brought to a girl of noble family, Theodora. Beautiful and rich, she didn’t want to get married. When asked why, she answered bravely that she had dedicated herself to Christ. The governor was angry about giving her 3 days to recant. Having spent these days in prison, Theodora constantly prayed and did not renounce her faith. Then the ruler threatened to give her to a brothel, but the girl claimed that the Lord would not leave her there.

It happened. While the visitors were deciding who would be her first client, the warrior Didyme entered her room, exchanged clothes and released the girl. Visitors to the Tolerance House were furious. They brought Didymus to the ruler. Didyme confessed that he was a Christian. Then he was sentenced to beheaded.

The inhabitants of Alexandria marched in droves to the place of execution. It was fun for them. When Theodora found out about the punishment, she also went to the scaffold. There she said she wanted to die with Didyme. The governor also ordered her to cut off her head. After the execution of the martyrs, their bodies were burned.
Christians did not come to pray at their graves.
