Martyr Antonina

The saint was born in Alexandria, received the faith of Christ in the city of Krodamna.
The Virgin led a pious and virtuous life. A true Christian, she refused to believe the pagan gods. No persuasion or threat made her worship stone idols. To no avail were Antonina vain gifts of the ruler Fista. She called on him through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to receive treasures of eternal blessings.
He called the pagan gods soulless demons, which caused the wrath of Fista.
He sent her to prison to give her time to think. He understood how difficult it was to get Christians to renounce their faith.
All night, without food or water, Antonina prayed to the Lord. And she heard the voice of God from heaven, “Fear not, be bold, for I am with you.”

Before the ruler, she predicted the destruction of the throne and the death of an ambulance. Fist became enraged, ordered her to be beaten, and then taken to desecration.

The suffering woman prayed fervently to God. After her prayer, an angel appeared to a soldier of Christ Alexander and sent him to the governor to ask for the virgin. He was allowed to talk to her. When Alexander came to prison, he gave the prisoner his cloak and helped him escape. He was ordered to be beaten and hanged. But by the will of the Lord, Antonina returned and took upon herself, together with Alexander, cruel tortures and martyrdom. Nothing could force them to worship soulless gods and break their faith in Jesus Christ.

After the death of Antonina and Alexander, Fist fell into agony and died after 7 days of terrible agony.
After that, the persecution of Christians ceased. The relics of the saints were laid in the Maximov Monastery of Constantinople.
