Jacob, Borovichi Wonderworker

Righteous Jacob carried the heavy cross of folly. This is probably the only thing we know about him.

But the history of finding his relics is familiar to many in Novgorod. In 1540, the inhabitants of the village of Borovici, on the river Mst, were unpleasantly surprised by the surprise that the river presented. Washed to the shore of the ice, which was a wooden deck with the body of a young man. Not wanting to get involved with the investigation, the villagers tried to drive away the ice floe, but it was always there.
It washed ashore. And then there was the vision. The young man said in it that his name is the same as the brother of Christ. He asked not to drive him away, but to give him a place of comfort. The residents moved the deck with the body to the shore and built a chapel. Later, the relics were placed in cancer in the Holy Spirit Monastery. In 1544, a celebration was established in honor of John Borovichsky. In 1657, at the behest of Patriarch Nikon, the relics were moved again. Valdai this time. There, in the 19th century, they made a raku and built a chapel. In the Holy Spirit Monastery, only a particle of relics remained.
