The source of the icon of the Mother of God “Life-bearing spring” is located in the Aktai hermitage, about eight kilometers west of the center of Verkhoturye. The place has long been included in the pilgrimage routes to the spiritual shrines of the city.
Above the source there is a well and a chapel-bath. The territory is away from the center, so it is better to think about the time of the return road and transport in advance.
How to Get There
From Verkhoturye follow to the western part of the city, to the area of the Station and the Aktai hermit. When entering from Yekaterinburg, focus on the sign to the temple, then move along the main street to the hermitage. Coordinates: 58.866306, 60.671056.
