In the pilgrimage routes associated with the area “Okovtsy”, the Okovetsky source (Okovtsy) is mentioned. As in former times, so today pilgrims who come to venerate the miraculous Okovetsk Icon or St. Nile Stolobensky, consider it their duty to visit this key and, having prayed — before in the chapel — and now in the temple at the spring, to plunge or pour water on it, or drink the water itself. The spring can be found on an elevated peninsula bordered by the mentioned river.
The large size of the reservoir is due to the powerful flow of water that hits from the bottom of the well. Pilgrims are advised to check in advance the possibility of travel and access to water on the selected date.
